Sergei SHOIGU, the Head of the Russian Military Department, the General of the Army, spoke at a meeting of the Federal Council of the Russian Federation within the frameworks of the “government hour”. The Minister of Defence told the senators about the current state of the Armed Forces and the main directions of their further development.

The meeting was held by Major General Andrey M. GONCHAROV, the Head of the Chief Directorate of Scientific Studies and Engineering Support of Advanced Technologies (Innovative Research) of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, at the Patriot ExpoCentre. "Nowadays, the Commission has become an effective tool in selection for further implementation of the initiative developments proposed by enterprises and industry organizations", he noted.

Today the National Centre for State Defence Control in Moscow hosted another teleconference of Defence Ministry chaired by the General of the Army Sergei Shoigu. Turning to the thematic part of the teleconference, the Defence Minister proposed to discuss the creation of the "Pion-NKS" satellite, which is an integral part of the "Liana" electronic intelligence system.
