The Head of the Main Directorate for Research and Technological Support told about the events of IMTF ARMY 2020
The Head of the Main Directorate for Research and Technological Support of Advanced Technologies (Innovative Research) of the Russian Defence Ministry summed up the results of the first day of the International Military-Technical Forum ARMY 2020.
“The second day was remarkable for the business activity of specialists and the work of foreign delegations,” said the Head of the Main Directorate for Research and Technological Support of the Russian Ministry of Defence, speaking to representatives of Russian and foreign media.
In Convention and exhibition center "Patriot" and objects of the aviation cluster Kubinka conducted 34 activities of scientific and business program (23 round table; 5 conferences; 3 briefing; 2 meetings, one a ceremony of signing state contracts), which were attended by 1198 people, including foreign guests – representatives of the People's Republic of China, UK, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The most significant events of the business program were held under the leadership and with the participation of a number of prominent state and political figures, as well as the senior staff of the Russian Defence Ministry.
Thus, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov, heads of large enterprises of the Russian defence industry complex, scientific research and credit organizations worked at the forum's business sites.

Major General Andrey Goncharov added that the forum was also attended by representatives of delegations of defence departments of 27 foreign countries, including: at the level of the head of the defense department - 5 States (Abkhazia, Armenia; Guinea-Bissau; CAR; South Ossetia); at the level of Chief of the General staff-7 States (Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil; India, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Serbia); at the level of commanders of types (branches) of troops arriving on behalf of the heads of defense departments (heads of state) - 2 States (Algeria, Vietnam); at the expert level-7 States (Azerbaijan, China, Djibouti, France, Greece, Morocco, Rwanda); at the level of representatives of foreign embassies in the Russian Federation-6 States (Angola, Mongolia, Namibia, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka).
On the second day of the forum organized and held a bilateral meeting of the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin with the Minister of Defence of Guinea-Bissau, the Vice Defense Ministers of Brazil and India, also with the Commander of the army of Algeria.
In addition, bilateral meetings were held through the Federal service for military-technical cooperation of Russia (India, Uzbekistan, Serbia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan).
Foreign specialists showed particular interest in the exhibitions of "Roscosmos" state Corporation, JSC Russian Helicopters, JSC "Almaz-Antey", "United aircraft Corporation", "Rosoboronexport" and the national exposition of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A dynamic display of weapons and military equipment samples was organized for foreign delegations.
In the focus of close attention of specialists are shooting clubs of the scientific and production association "High-precision complexes" and "Kalashnikov concern", as well as shooting galleries of the multifunctional fire center, which organized a demonstration of the capabilities of small arms.
The center of attraction of the expert community was still the exposition of the military innovative technopolis "ERA" with the involvement of military and civilian universities, research organizations, research companies and industrial enterprises.
The exhibition is not only a platform for demonstrating innovative developments, but also a center for holding thematic events of the business program and professional consultations. As a result of these meetings, a number of companies have already expressed their intention to cooperate and have planned a study visit to the Technopolis in the city of Anapa.
At the exhibition of technopolis "ERA", about 50 consultations were held for employment in Technopolis for military service by operators of scientific companies.
Representatives of the Pacific Higher Military Maritime School, Tomsk State University and Tula State University expressed interest in this site as part of the work on staffing Technopolis with scientific personnel.
Major General Anrey Goncharov also added that the Technopolis exposition was attended by over 350 guests, including representatives of foreign delegations from France, the United Arab Emirates, China and South Korea. The most interesting items were the exhibits of the artificial intelligence cluster.
Speaking about the third day of the work of the IMTF Army-2020, the head of the Main Directorate for Research and Technological Support of the Russian Ministry of Defence said that it would be focused on specialists and representatives of the expert community.
It is planned to hold 53 events of the scientific and business program, including 36 round tables, 9 conferences, 4 meetings, 3 briefings, and one contract signing ceremony.

320 specialists from foreign countries will take part in the forum. Specialists will be given the opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibitions in more detail, visit the demonstration sites of the Alabino polygon and Kubinka airfield.
The Dronbiathlon 2020 championship, which is being held for the fifth year in a row, will be an absolute highlight of the forum and one of its most anticipated events. The event is organized by the Main Department of research activities of the Russian Defence Ministry. It will be an impressive spectacle and a real struggle to overcome difficult obstacles with unmanned aerial vehicles. Today, 12 professional pilots from Russia and foreign countries will compete for the title of the championship.
In addition, today for the first time, the operators of scientific companies of the ERA military innovative technopolis will show their achievements. They will demonstrate their skills in controlling the flight of fifty drones with the construction of figures in the air of various complexity.
This unique competition will be held in the open air of the "Patriot" Convention and exhibition center and will be a bright end to the evening program of the day. It starts at 22:00.
