ABOUT 850 UNITS OF ADVANCED AND MODERNISED MILITARY EQUIPMENT WILL BE SUPPLIED TO THE CENTRAL MILITARY DISTRICT IN 2020

About 850 units of weapons and military equipment will be delivered to the troops of the Central Military District in 2020. This was announced by Aleksandr LAPIN, the Commander of the district troops, the Colonel General.

"In 2020, about eight hundred and fifty new and modernized models of weapons and military equipment will be delivered to the military formations and units of the district. The district troops will be replenished with 19 aircraft, 10 radar stations, 145 units of armored vehicle weapons and equipment, as well as pieces of weaponry from other military branches", said Colonel-General Aleksandr LAPIN.

According to the commander, this year 4 sets of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missiles system will be delivered to the air defence military units of the Central Military District.

"The rearmament of two regiments with the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missiles system will significantly enhance the air defence level in the Volga and Ural regions", he noted.

The Central Military District is located in the territory of the Volga, Ural and Siberian federal districts and 29 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The structure of this military district includes several overseas objects: the 201st military base in Tajikistan, the Kant air base in Kyrgyzstan, as well as military subdivisions in Kazakhstan.
