RESULTS OF FORUM “ARMY-2019”
International Military-Technical Forum “Army’’ is a leading Russian three-service event comprising Land Forces, Air Forces and Navy, covering all spheres of the defence industry in Russia. The event structure consists of large-scale exhibition combining 40 exhibition profiles, unique demonstration program with real ammunition firing and extensive congress program.
International Military-Technical Forum “Army-2019” has been held by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation for the 5th anniversary time from 25 till 30 of June, 2020. According to the results of Forum “Army-2019”, the main indoor exhibition site occupied an area of 65 000 sq.m. in total. More than 1 300 companies exhibited in Forum “Army-2019” presenting more than 27 000 exhibits. Such countries as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Turkey, Thailand and South Africa presented their national exhibition stands. Exhibitors from 14 countries presented their products and services within exhibition of Forum “Army-2019”. 41 high ranking international delegations paid a special visit to Forum “Army-2019”.
Demonstration program of Forum “Army-2019” has been held according to three event clusters: Land Forces Cluster at Alabino Military Training Grounds, Aviation Cluster at Kubinka Air Base and Navy Cluster at Komsomolskoye Lake.
The firing capabilities of weapons and military equipment were demonstrated at the moving-target tank-gunnery range of the Alabino Military Training Grounds by firing from all types of weapons of tanks and military vehicles using various types of ammunition, including anti-tank guided missiles, in various modes, and aiming at armored and unarmored targets. For a dynamic display, 304 units of military equipment were involved, as well as 27 weapons and equipment from 16 industrial enterprises were shown within demonstration program of the Forum. Moreover, the multifunctional shooting center of Patriot Park made it possible to showcase the capabilities of advanced small-arms models.
On Komsomolskoye Lake of the Alabino Military Training Grounds, the capabilities of weapons, military and special equipment to overcome water barriers are demonstrated including the following: group maneuvering of floating combat vehicles, demonstration of water-crossing capabilities, combat-swimming techniques, and water-rescue operations.
Kubinka Air Base traditionally shown the advantages of airborne weapons and equipment. The following expositions were presented at Forum “ARMY- 2019”: thematic exposition about the activities of Russian military grouping in the Syrian Arab Republic, exposition of full-scale prototypes of modern and advanced UAVs as well asexposition of vintage aircraft. The participants and guests of the Forum were pleased with extensive flying program, the crews of the aerobatics groups “Russian Knights”, “Swifts” and “Golden Eagles” showed their master skills. Single aerobatics was performed by Su-35S, Yak-130, Yak-152 aircraft, and Ka-52 helicopter.
In 2019, within the framework of the Forum, 173 congress program events were held on the most important issues of ensuring state defence, developing international military, military-technical and military-economic cooperation. In total, 11 699 people took part in round-table discussions, conferences, briefings and business games, 2.5 thousand participants were highly-qualified experts.
During the Forum, 107 bilateral meetings were held by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Federal Trade Fair Service of the Russian Federation, 55 of which were held with the participation of foreign partners. A total of 52 meetings were held between JSC “ROSOBORONEXPORT” and enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
