Russian Defence Minister General of the Army held teleconference

Today, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergei Shoigu held teleconference with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces devoted to issues of construction and recovering of military objects.

At the beginning of the conference, the Head of the defence department informed all participants that Vice Admiral Alexander Nosatov was appointed to the post of the Active Commander of the Baltic Fleet, and Vice Admiral Igor Muhametshin was appointed to the post of the Active Chief of Staff of the Baltic Fleet.

The Head of the military department ordered the command staff of the Baltic Fleet in cooperation with the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy and military control bodies to establish the order in the formation.

The Defence Minister also stated that Alexander Dvornikov was appointed to the post of the Active Commander of the Southern MD troops, and Colonel General Alexander Galkin was to continue his military service in the central administrative office of the Russian Defence Ministry.

Regarding to the agenda, the Head of the military department said that the Russian Defence Ministry had taken significant efforts to create and develop the military infrastructure.

According to the Defence Minister, 602 complex facilities, including almost 4,300 buildings and constructions, will be installed this year.

Before listening to the reports, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu paid special attention to an important issue. On June 19-28, the Russian Ministry of Defence successfully accomplished tasks on gaining international certification of digital surveillance equipmentmounted on Tu-154M and An-30B aircraft within the Treaty on Open Skies.

Sergei Shoigu stated that 65 experts from 22 countries had approved full compliance of it with all requirements.

“Russia is the first member state of the Treaty to use digital cameras. This will significantly speed up processing, raise quality and informational content of gained data,” said Sergei Shoigu stressing that the equipment had been developed and certified in conditions of sanctions.

“Russia has surpassed such countries as the United States of America, Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy. They are still using analog equipment,” stated General of the Army Sergei Shoigu and expresses his gratitude to everyone, who had been working in this direction.
