Heads of the Russian and Pakistani military departments had a meeting within the Moscow Conference on International Security

Today the Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu met his Pakistani colleague Khawaja Muhammad Asif within the V Moscow Conference on International Security.

In the course of the negotiations, Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that the armed forces of Russia and Pakistan had build-up contacts in many fields.

“We appreciate the achievements in military cooperation. Our meetings promoted growth of the number of contacts between the armed forces of Pakistan and Russia in many directions throughout the recent years,” said General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.

He also expressed condolences for terrorist attack which had taken place on March 27 in Lahore and killed dozens of people.

“Taking into account the situation, there is necessity in joining of efforts of world community for effective countering of international terrorism and religious extremism,” added Sergei Shoigu.

The Head of the Russian military department stressed that developing of constructive relations between Russia and Pakistan was the important factor of providing international security.

In his turn, the Head of the Pakistani military department claimed that it was an honour for him to take part in that forum for the third time.

According to him, Pakistan will continue fighting terrorism in the country and on the regional level.
