Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu held the defence department Board session

Today, the Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu held the defence department Board session with the Leadership of the Russian Armed Forces.
Main tasks of combat training of the Russian Armed Forces for the summer training period and training of junior specialist training were discussed.
According to the Defence Minister, the summer training period will be rich will combat training events. There will be more than 2,000 different exercises will be held.
Combat training tasks will also be performed in course of unannounced combat readiness inspections.
General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that the International Army Games had become the main aspect of the combat training in the Russian Armed Forces.
“The competitions will be held on July 30 – August 29 at 19 Russian training grounds. For the first time, the Games will be held at a range in the Republic of Kazakhstan. More than 100 teams from 23 countries will participate in 23 contests,” said General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
According to him, the Russian Armed Forces are to hold 9 international exercises, including “Peaceful Mission”, “Unbreakable Brotherhood” Russian-Belarusian joint exercise, and “Selenga-2016” Russian-Mongolian exercise.
“Caucasus-2016” strategic command-and-staff exercise will be the final stage of the training of the Russian Armed Forces during the summer training period.
The Defence Minister noted that more and more modern armament and military hardware were introduced in the troops annually. This fact makes special demands on professional skills of all military servicemen, including junior specialists.
