At the site of ARMY 2021 international military-technical forum in Chita, military personnel of the Air Defence Forces will present a modernized armored personnel carrier BTR-82AM
As part of the International Military Technical Forum (IMTF) in the Trans-Baikal Territory, at one of the sites of a large-scale event in Chita city, servicemen of the district training centre for training junior specialists of motorized rifle and tank forces of the Eastern Military District will demonstrate a modernized armored personnel carrier BTR-82AM.
After modernization, the BTR-82AM retained the main goals and objectives of the base vehicle. Armored personnel carrier is designed to transport personnel and provide fire support during combat. At the same time, the vehicle has a number of new equipment that facilitates operation and, to some extent, improves its fighting qualities.
At the same time, the vehicle received a combat module similar to that used on the BTR-80A. On the reinforced roof of the hull, a monitor-type turret with machine-gun and artillery armament is mounted. The main armament of the BTR-82AM is a 30 mm 2A72 automatic cannon. Also on the tower is mounted a modernized machine gun in a separate armored casing. The tower carries smoke grenade launchers as an additional weapon.
In addition, as part of the demonstration of weapons and military equipment, guests of the large-scale event will be able to visit exhibitions showing historical equipment and small arms, military equipment and modern observation devices, aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles, modern models of military equipment and technical means of the formations in service and military units of the Air Defence Forces, stationed in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
In total, more than 100 weapons samples will be presented at the thematic sites of the military-technical forum, including aviation equipment and samples recently received by the military units of the EMD.
