The military-technical forum "Army-2020" has started in the Central Military District

The "Army-2020" military technical forum has started in the Central Military District (CMD). Forum sites were opened for visitors in the cities of Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Samara.

In Yekaterinburg, the number of weapons, military and special equipment used for display has increased by 30 percent compared to last year. Guests of the forum will be able to see more than 150 units of new and modernized equipment that is in service with the Central Military District troops. As part of the year of memory and glory, in order to preserve historical memory and to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945, together with the UMMC Museum and the Military and Patriotic recreation park "Patriot", the Central Military District for the first time deployed a cluster of historical equipment in the amount of 15 units that participated in the battles of the Great Patriotic war. The exhibition, along with the legendary Soviet T-34 tank, features the American M3 "Stewart" light tank, which is the most mass-produced in its class, and the British army's "Matilda" medium infantry tank. The exhibits also include Soviet SU-5-2 and SU-76M light artillery systems, BM-8-24 and BM-8-48 multiple rocket launchers, BA-10M armored vehicles, and the American "Willis MV" SUV.

The static display of modern weapons and military equipment includes the latest modifications of the T-72 tank, BTR-82A armored personnel carrier, S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, Mi-24P and Mi-8MTV attack and multi-purpose helicopters, reconnaissance systems and electronic warfare, unmanned aircraft, NBC protection vehicles RHM-6, self-propelled 152-mm howitzer "Msta-S", engineering equipment, etc.

The forum program also provides a dynamic display of fire and maneuver capabilities of modern military equipment. Forum visitors will be able to watch the drawing of a training battle, which will involve armored units, motorized rifle units with the support of Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft, Su-34 multi-role fighter-bombers and army aviation helicopters.

There is a large children's play area on the forum site, which includes laser tag and airsoft playgrounds, a climbing wall, and trampolines for children and teenagers. Those who wish will be able to take part in passing the GTO standards.

The cultural and leisure program of the forum includes performances by creative teams of the CMD, the city and the region. For the convenience of forum guests, food courts, as well as field kitchens with traditional soldier's porridge, and "Voentorg" tents with souvenirs will be deployed. In addition, there will be a mobile draw point for military service under a contract.

The organizers of the forum provide free delivery of residents and guests of the city to the range "Sverdlovsky". The number of transport and routes has been significantly expanded compared to last year. Buses decorated with forum symbols will run daily from 27 to 29 August. Sending as soon as the buses are full from 32 military camp, Academichesky shopping center, headquarters of the Central Military District No. 1, subway station Botanycheskaya, residential district "Solnechnyi", subway station "Prospekt Kosmonavtov", "Park Mayakovskogo". For security reasons, all vehicles will be pre-processed.
