Military personnel of the Southern Military District started preparing the forum "Army-2020" near Volgograd

Military personnel of the Southern Military District (SMD) have started preparing for the military-technical forum "Army-2020" in the Volgograd region. On the basis of the "Patriot" Aero club in Sredneakhtubinsky district, an event was planned with a demonstration of the combat capabilities of modern weapons and equipment of SMD.

The static display will feature about 45 units of combat and special equipment. Everyone will be able to see the newest promising arms and military equipment of the Armed Forces, including tank T-90A, 152-mm self-propelled howitzer "Msta-S", infantry fighting vehicles of the third generation, reactive multiple-launch system "Tornado-G", antiaircraft missile-gun complex "Tunguska-M1", heavy flamethrower system "Buratino", the armored cars "Tiger", BTR-82A etc.

The program of dynamic display implements five episodes of the drawing of combat operations of units, including the landing of airmobile groups on helicopters, the capture of prisoners, the evacuation of the wounded, the actions of assault groups, motorized rifle and tank platoons, as well as the performance of aerobatics by helicopter crews.

The main objectives of the forum are to promote the technical re-equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, strengthen cooperation between the SMD and industrial enterprises and federal executive authorities, increase the prestige of military service and patriotic education of young people.

By the decision of the commander of SMD, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, the forum is scheduled to be held on 16 sites of "Patriot" parks in 14 regions of the Russian Federation from August 27 to 29.
