Using 3D Technology for Creating Weapons
"Representatives of the professional community at the international military-technical forum "ARMY-2020" will discuss the prospects of using 3D technologies in the creation and operation of weapons, military and special equipment," said the Russian Ministry of Defence in a statement.
The round table discussion will include review the of the implementation of these technologies in the interests of the Russian Defence Ministry in medicine, robotics and aircraft engineering.
Using 3D technology is used in the laboratories of biotechnical and robotic systems of the Military Innovative Technopolis "ERA". Operators of scientific companies design virtual models and then convert them into a physical object using a 3D printer.
Representatives of the military administration, research organisations and leading higher educational institutions of the country will take part in the discussion.
