DIVERSIFICATION OF THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX WILL BE DISCUSSED AT THE "ARMY-2020" FORUM

This event will bring together the representatives of governmental bodies, defence industry enterprises, leading research organizations and universities of the Russian Federation.
Diversification of the Russian defence industry will be discussed at the “ARMY-2020” Forum. This was announced by Major General Andrey GONCHAROV, the Head of the Chief Directorate of Scientific Studies of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
“The Congress will take place within the frameworks of the “ARMY-2020” International Military-Technical Forum, and the issues concerning diversification of the Russian defence industry will be discussed at this Congress”, he said.
The Congress is held to stimulate the innovative development of the military-industrial complex, as well as to promote technologies and industrial products on the markets of high-tech goods and services.
“As part of the Congress, there will be an expanded exhibition of dual-purpose and civilian products developed by the defence industry enterprises, including the electronic component base, as well as processing equipment of the tooling industry enterprises and domestic software developers”, the General added.
The Army Forum has been held since 2015 in the Patriot Park in Kubinka, Moscow Region. This year the military-technical exhibition will be held on August 23-29. “ARMY-2020” is a platform for demonstrating the latest types of weapons, signing large-scale state contracts between countries and companies. According to the Forum’s work plan, the opening ceremony and its official part is planned on August 23, the scientific and business programme will take place on August 24-26, and on August 27-29 the Forum will be opened for everyone.
According to Sergei SHOIGU, the Russian Minister of Defence, this year the military-technical forum is for the first time planned to be held simultaneously with the International Army Games - 2020. The Head of the Department said that this will allow to attract more foreign delegations to participate in both events, thus expanding the possibilities for official negotiations and meetings.
