DELEGATION OF THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE "INTERNATIONAL CONGRESSES AND EXHIBITIONS" AT NEGOTIATIONS IN SAN PAULO

The joint delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and ICE visiting Brazil continued negotiations on the preparing the Brazilian national exhibition for participation in the “ARMY-2020” International Military-Technical Forum.

On March 5, in the city of São Paulo, negotiations were held between the Russian delegation consisting of the representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defence, ICE, the Russian Trade Representation Office in São Paulo and the Rostec State Corporation with representatives of the Brazilian Ministry of Defence and ABIMDE managers. Armando Lemos, acting as the Executive, Financial and Technical Director of the Brazilian Association of Defence Industry Enterprises (ABIMDE), as well as Paulo Albuquerque, Director on International Projects, being in charge of participation of Brazilian companies being part of ABIMDE in international exhibitions, participated in the negotiations.

The Association stated its positive attitude towards the proposal to form the Brazilian exposition at the Forum. ABIMDE also emphasized that the possibilities of Brazil participation in the Army Forum will be studied not only in the course of preparing for the upcoming event, but also with a reserve for the coming years. It should be noted that the working group on the preparation to the Forum, the agreement on the formation of which was reached on Tuesday, March 3, in the city of Brasilia, has already managed to begin its active work. At the same time, a number of enterprises of the Brazilian defence industry have already expressed their intention to present their technologies and products at the “ARMY-2020” Forum.

The “ARMY-2020” International Military-Technical Forum is a milestone event organized by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, which includes, among other things, a large-scale international arms exhibition, a business programme and a demonstration of the technical capabilities of new inventions in the field of small arms, aviation and defence equipment in the field conditions.
