Russian Defence Minister held a session of organizational committee of the II International military and technical forum Army-2016

A session of the organizational committee for preparation and holding of the International military and technical forum Army-2016 has taken place in the National Centre for State Defence Control under the leadership of the Minister of Defence General of the Army Sergei Shoigu in Moscow.

Opening the session, the Head of the military department reminded that the Forum would be held for the second time.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that the previous forum had given an unprecedented opportunity to show military and dual-purpose technologies and samples of equipment.

The Head of the military department paid attention to the fact that the producers and customers had received all the necessary conditions for constructive dialogue and exchange of experience.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu told that the preparation of the second Forum involved interested federal executive authorities, the Government of Moscow and the Moscow Region, a number of large state corporations, enterprises and organizations.

The Forum is to be held on the basis of the Congress and exhibition centre “Patriot”.

According to the Russian Defence Minister, the it will demonstrate the high effectiveness of the state’s policy in re-equipment of the Russian Armed Forces with modern armament and military hardware.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu ordered to expand the exposition area of the Forum, to widen the geography of participants as well as to create conditions which would be more attractive for enterprises of the Military Industrial Complex.

Minister of Defence paid particular attention to the international aspect of the Forum.

According to General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, the Forum becomes very special for developing intergovernmental cooperation for designing, producing and maintaining armament and military hardware in such a complex military and political satiation.

II International military and technical forum “ARMY–2016” will be held on September 6-11. It will include a large-scale exposition programme, science and business part, demonstration of armament, military and special hardware held at ranges.

The Forum events are to take place in the Congress and exhibition centre of the “Patriot” park at the area of more than 200,000 square meters. The exposition will be placed in new pavilions at the area of 80,000 square meters.

The exposition samples will be installed in accordance to 40 themes.

Hardware capabilities will be also demonstrated in the Eastern, Central and Southern military districts, and on the Northern Fleet.

Saint Petersburg is to host modern samples of the Russian Navy hardware.

New exposition called “Innovative club” will demonstrated different products and technologies, including the operational results of the scientific and scientific-industrial companies.

Scientific and business programme will be held in the course of the expanded session of the Russian Defence Ministry Scientific and Technical Council. The programme will include scientific and practical conferences, roundtables and briefings on topical issues concerning development of armament, military and special hardware.

Capabilities of military- and dual-purpose robotic complexes will be demonstrated within the separate section.

Not only representatives of business community can participate in the Forum, but anybody who wants to.
