Reenactment of an Air Combat from WWII at ARMY-2020
In memory of the heroes of the frontline years, honoured pilots will demonstrate flights on 'Piper Cub' and Yak-52 aircrafts in a reenactment of an air combat from WWII, said the Ministry.
As part of the program of performances, the pilots will play a tactical episode to repel the enemy's raid on the Soviet airfield. According to the scenario of historical reenactment, a real duel will unfold in the sky, involving the appearance of an enemy aircraft over the location of the Red Army units in the area of their concentration and storming positions using machine guns. In response to the threat from the air, a Soviet fighter will rise into the sky and will engage in a dogfight with the enemy. The first attack will be carried out in the frontline in oncoming courses, this will be followed by a series of bends, tail calls and dive attacks.
These aircrafts will demonstrate complex aerobatics such as turns, half-turns and slides.
It is planned that the plane "Piper cub" will be piloted by Lieutenant Colonel pilot-sniper Konstantin Totsky, a Yak-52 – by Colonel, honored military pilot, pilot-sniper Alexander Gornov.
